Object Metadata

Use attribute filters (color, gender, age, vehicle type, and more) to find thumbnails matching the criteria

Overview

What is Object Metadata?
Object metadata is the feature of the surveillance system which continuously collects various kind of attributes of the people and vehicles so that later it would be possible to use VMS interface to search for the playback video clips using these attributes. The video clips found by the object metadata filters will be presented conveniently as video thumbnails.

How the Object Metadata is Collected?
The Object Metadata is typically collected by ACTi's AI cameras. The camera will then transmit the metadata information to the video management system along with the video stream.

What types of Object Metadata are available?
There are various people-related metadata categories available, such as Age, Confidence, Expression, Gender, Glasses, Hat, ID, Mask, Name. For each metadata type, there are also more specific sub-type options available. For example, under the Glasses type, you can specify Sunglasses.

The vehicle-related metadata contains Color, Direction, Lane, Object type, plate number and other items. The object types of the vehicles include Ambulance, Bicycle, Buggy, Bus, Car, Concrete Mixer, Container Truck, Coupe, and about 30 more types.

How does Object Metadata help with the efficient search?
It is possible to combine various metadata filters to narrow down the search range. For example, if the user needs to find a yellow truck, then both the color and the vehicle type will be used simultaneously. The result will be the thumbnails of all the yellow trucks.

Applications

Object Metadata is used for time-saving investigation of specific incidents. The operator can apply various metadata class filters to find the suspect immediately. For example, the male wearing a hat and sunglasses.

Features

Object Metadata solution consists of AI cameras such as A427, A428 or other similar models, along with the video management system, such as ACTi's NVR 3 that supports the object metadata filters on the playback page.
