Fight Detection

Detect fighting by recognizing punches and kicks between two or more people.

Overview

What is Fight Detection?
Fight Detection is the AI feature that is able to analyze and distinguish fighting behavior from any other types of physical contacts, such as hugs or handshakes. The situation is considered fighting when there are clearly distinguishable punching or kicking gestures within the reach of another person. There may be two or more people fighting at the same time.

Setting Up the Fight Detection
Since fighting may occur anywhere in the view of the camera, it is highly recommended to use the full-screen detection area. When the fight happens, the system will trigger an alarm automatically."

Applications

Automatic fight detection can reduce the risk of injuries, it would also help detect and handle bullying. In case of anonymous attacks, the early detection can help the law enforcement officers to get to the scene as quickly as possible.

The most typical applications are schools, public areas, correctional facilities.

Solutions

It is possible to use ACTi's Fight Detection cameras together with ACTi's ZNR-series NVR or with Windows-based NVR 3 servers. The VMS will receive the fight detection alerts from the cameras and handle the events by video pop-up, sound alert, sending an email alert and more.

Furthermore, some of the latest ZNR-series NVR servers have the built-in Fight Detection capability - it is possible to use a regular surveillance camera without built-in AI and still run the fight detection thanks to the NVR-side AI capabilities.
