What is Backup Recording?

Backup recording is the archiving solution of the video recordings of the NVR. There is a dedicated backup server in the network, standby to archive the video recordings. NVR servers would periodically, based on the user defined schedule, upload the copies of the recordings to the Backup Server. This helps ensure that the video clips are stored in at least 2 locations.

Applications

In the mission critical projects, it is highly important to have at least 2 copies of the videos stored in the network, so that if anything ever happens to the primary recorder then the video evidence in the backup server is still there. For example, when the intruder intentionally tries to erase the evidence in the primary NVR or destroys the NVR, then the intrusion will be exposed thanks to the Backup Server in a different location.
