Access Control Server

Comprehensive central management software for managing multiple access control devices
Access Control Server

Overview

Access Control Smart Server (ACSS) is an easy-to-use access control software for managing employees and visitors access through the doors and gates as well as managing employee attendance.

ACTi offers standalone version of Access Control Smart Server, ACS-100. Most access control solution manufacturers only offer software-based server, which requires management of an additional computer, which is IT overhead and a securty risk.

ACTi door stations do the identification process within the door unit without requiring any server-side computing resources. It also eliminates the risk of unstable access control process due to server overload or network failures.

ACTi offers full solution: software and all the devices. This way, there is no need to worry about having multiple systems from different vendors.

Solution Architecture

Redundancy Solution

Nearly every access control solution is mission critical. If the main server would become inaccessible, it could affect all the access points at the same time. Therefore, it is possible to set up an Access Control Redundancy service. Using a second unit of a regular Access Control Smart Server, it can be configured as a standby unit to watch over the main unit.

The Redundancy server will check if the main server is available after every certain number of seconds. When the main server is not responding, the Redundancy server will instantly take over the control of all the door stations and locks, and it will continue to manage them until the main service is restored. After the recovery of the main server, the access data will be synchronized back to the main server.

In order to be able to serve all the door stations and users, the Redundancy server periodically downloads the most updated configuration data from the main server, by user defined intervals.
