ACTi is committed to protecting your online privacy on our ACTi Website. The privacy practices described in this privacy policy apply to ACTi.com and to all of our ACTi Websites, except the ACTi community user forums which have their own privacy practices and Terms of Service (collectively, the “ACTi Website”).

We strive to treat your personal information as safely and securely as reasonably possible. As described below, your information may be collected by ACTi Corporation (“ACTi”), disclosed to third parties, and used by third parties and ACTi. Registration

Register to access certain parts of the ACTi Website
In order to use certain protected areas of this ACTi Website, such as our support from ACTi Customer Helpdesk, or either ACTi Website Download Request, or to request information of product related, you first must complete a registration form and/or create a username and password. During registration, you are required to give contact information (such as name and email address). We may use this information to contact you about the services on our ACTi Website in which you have expressed interest. This information may also be shared with ACTi subsidiaries and business partners.
Some personal information, such as e-mail address may be used for marketing purposes through business partner platforms, including Facebook, Google, and LinkedIn.

Log Files

In order to provide registered users a more personalized and meaningful experience on the ACTi Website; we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, and date/time stamp.

We use this information to analyze customer preference, to administer the ACTi Website, to track users’ movements around the ACTi Website, to enhance your experience in using our ACTi Website, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. This information is used to better understand and improve the usability, performance, and effectiveness of ACTi' Website.

Service-related Announcements for Customer Helpdesk

If you are a customer/agent or distributors even system integrator; we may send you strictly product service-related when it is necessary to do so. Once you accept our technical support and customer helpdesk through telephone email and even distal manners related to the product service you are using, we might send you an email for improving our Technical support, ACTi has prioritization for Customer service which is implementing a Customer Help Desk system of any enquiry; we will require your personal information for product service.

Agents & Service Providers

When you sign up or even request for these product related service, we may share your personal information as necessary with authorized third party ACTi partners or contractors in order to provide the requested service or transaction. For instance, we use an outside shipping company to fulfill orders, and a credit card processing company to bill you for services; We have our own distributors and system integrators for our ACTi Product Service for evaluating our business prospect.

We only provide third party partners and service providers with the minimum amount of personal information necessary to complete the requested service or transaction. We do not permit these companies to share or use personally identifiable information for any other purposes.

Purposes

We can only use your personal information for the purpose for which it was obtained or for a use consistent with that purpose, or for a purpose listed as following.

  • Register to access certain parts of the Site
  • Register to subscribe to e-newsletters
  • Customer Helpdesk
  • Participate in discussion forums

Legal Covering

We follow up and comply with the Government of Taiwan Personal Information Protection Act and for the processes in accordance with European area by the guidance of General Data Protection Regulation on the protection of personal data and any other direction or guidance on information technology security from the relevant federal agencies around the world.

Legal Disclaimer

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when it is requested or required by and with the public authorities for its necessary to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our ACTi Website. Also, we reserve the right to fully use and disclose any information collected via the ACTi Website that is not in a personally identifiable form.
Transfers, disclosures and registers Information gathered as a result of processing of personal data may be disclosed to the security services of other public institutions or to security, judicial, or law enforcement authorities for the purpose of ongoing inquiries or to investigate or prosecute criminal offenses. Such transfers are carried out only on request and ACTi disclaim that for exempt form obligation of disclosing.

Risk and Protection

Transmissions over the Internet are never 100% secure or error-free. However, security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number) on our registration forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS). In any organization, failure to protect personal information can increase the risk of a privacy breach. These privacy breaches can lead to things such as reputational harm, fraud or identity theft.
The level of safeguards used to protect personal information will depend on the:

  • Sensitivity of the personal information
  • Format of the information
  • Method of storage.

All the possible technical and physical measures are being taken to ensure the security of the system and the safeguard of data protection, among others:

  • Personnel (external and internal) are bound by non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements.
  • Users are granted the access right only to those resources which are strictly necessary to carry out their jobs (need-to-know basis) We will protect personal information from loss or theft, unauthorized access, use or disclosure, modification or destruction through appropriate and adequate protections for administrative, technical and physical security measures and safeguards.
  • Data protection training is including the outsourced security guards and maintenance technicians, are given data protection training. Training is provided for each new member of the staff and periodic workshops on data protection compliance.
    Also, we follow up those protections on the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it by following means:
  • Minimizing
  • Pseudonymising
  • Anonymous
  • Store encryption
  • Transmission encryption
  • Automatically delete expired data

Periodic Reviews

A periodic data protection review will be undertaken by the Data Protection Officer for Security and Safety every four years. During the periodic reviews it will re-assess that: is there continues to be a need for the data protection; continues to serve its declared purpose; adequate protections way available for complying with that Regulation, the Guidelines and whether it is followed in practice.

Data Categories

Special categories of data of the ACTi website and software system does not aim at collecting special categories of data, such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, or data concerning health or sexual orientation.

Access Right

Who has access to the information of personal data established on ACTi website and software system?
In-house and a maintenance staff of ACTi with outsource operations. Live video images are accessible to FAE of ACTi on duty based on the need-to-know principle. The software system does not allow outsourced operators to extract footage into external media.

Utilize Period

How long do we keep the data? Based on a risk analysis and data protection impact assessment the retention period is individually decided for each information with a maximum of 6 years from the data subject abates transaction between ACTi or after the services related to the customer have been completed. This prolonged retention period is essential for security investigations, as in many cases complaints are launched a long time after the event, due to the presence of users in different places of work. If any data needs to be stored to further investigate or evidence a security incident, it may be retained for the duration of the investigation and, when relevant, archived along with the investigation for up to ten years. Their retention is rigorously documented.

Your Option Right

You have the right to access the personal data we hold on you and to correct and request removal of such data. The Data Protection Officer (referred as “DPO” below) for Security and Safety may also be contacted in case of any other questions relating to the processing of personal data. The DPO will do their best to respond earlier, especially if the applicant establishes the urgency of the request. We do not charge applicants for requesting a viewing or a copy of their recorded personal data.
