ACTi introduces video-based people counting solution to help retailers optimize their stores’ daily operations and plan the corporate strategy. It allows them to measure foot traffic to determine shoppers’ behavior, evaluate effects of marketing campaigns and also provides valuable information helping them enhance working schedule management or revamp store layout.

Sophisticated People Counting algorithms analyze the video and extracts information about number of customers and dwell time. Based on these, Reporting Server creates comprehensive reports including tables, charts and heat maps. These can be further filtered by time and location or sent regularly to defined email addresses.

Heat Map assesses traffic flows throughout an area to improve product placement in the store or identify traffic congestion in aisles. Dwell Time analysis calculates the amount of time a person has spent in a certain area to identify his interest in a specific product.


Cameras with built-in People Counting feature are able to analyze the image and directly provide data to the Reporting Server. This server can collect the data from multiple locations over long time periods and produce extensive reports. Cameras without People Counting technology can be used as well – the People Counting Server analyzes the video in real time or from playback and then provides the data to the Reporting Server.
