Define the Switch Requirements
1.How many standard PoE cameras (Class 1-3)?
2.How many non-PoE or high PoE cameras?
3.How many ports reserved for other network devices? (PC, another switch)

Requirements for future expansion

4.How many ports reserved for future standard PoE cameras (Class 1-3)?
5.How many ports reserved for future non-PoE and high PoE cameras?

The power supply capability on PoE switch side should always be bigger than the power consumption of the camera.

For example, when the camera's power consumption is 12.95W then the PoE Switch power supply should be 15.4W in order to guarantee the sufficient power as some power may be dissipated in the cable, depending on the length of the cable and the environment.
