Climbing Detection

Detect unauthorized attempts to climb fences or walls.

概要

What is Climbing Detection?
Climbing detection is an AI-based perimeter protection feature that recognizes when the wall or fence is being crossed using climbing.

The AI keeps track of the person's head and shoulders. When the person starts climbing and surpasses the horizontal tripwire drawn horizontally then the system registers it as a climbing attempt. The security alarm will be triggered when the whole body has crossed the horizontal tripwire.

How Does it Work?
The system will be configured simply by drawing the tripwire horizontally either at the top of the fence or a barrier wall, or high enough from the ground so that normally walking or standing people would not interfere with the tripwire.

アプリケーション

Climbing detection helps prevent intrusions to the areas surrounded by the fences or walls, such as schools, factories, and other locations.

It can also be used to prevent climbing on the buildings by setting the tripwire at about 2 meters from the ground. This helps protecting against the intrusions from the windows.

Some locations may become attractive spots for recreational climbers. Those would be unsecure locations for climbing and may result with serious injuries. To prevent such activities, the climbing detection system can be used to monitor the area at all times and trigger and alarm when the climbers attemp to go up.

ソリューション

It is possible to use ACTi's Climbing Detection cameras together with ACTi's ZNR-series NVR or with Windows-based NVR 3 servers. The VMS will receive the climbing detection alerts from the cameras and handle the events by video pop-up, sound alert, sending an email alert and more.

Furthermore, some of the latest ZNR-series NVR servers have the built-in Climbing Detection capability - it is possible to use a regular surveillance camera without built-in AI and still run the climbing detection thanks to the NVR-side AI capabilities.
