What is Smart Search?
Smart Search is a playback feature of the NVR that allows finding moving objects in any region of a video channel. Compared to the conventional motion detection based solution, the Smart Search does not require defining the regions before the incidents.

For example, when a vehicle appears to damaged in the parking lot, with the help of Smart Search it is easy to immediately find out all the recent activities around that vehicle - simply set the ROI around the damaged vehicle and the list of video clips will appear containing people and vehicles in the proximity of that target object. This way, the cause of the damage can be found very fast. Instead of looking through hours of video clips, only a couple of minutes is needed to investigate this incident.

Smart Search vs Forensic Search
The difference is - Forensic Search finds the SAME OBJECT throughout DIFFERENT CHANNELS. Whereas Smart Search finds DIFFERENT OBJECTS within ROI OF SAME CHANNEL.

Applications

Smart Search is very helpful for investigating missing items, stolen items and damaged items. By simply setting the ROI around the area on the playback screen where the missing or damaged object was, the related incidents will be listed instantly. You can play through these clips seamlessly.

Solutions

Smart Search is supported by several ZNR-series NVR models. To make it work, these cameras with the Smart Motion Detection feature have to be connected to those NVR servers.
