Helmet Detection

Detect wearing or not wearing the helmet or a hard hat within the predefined area.

Übersicht

What is Helmet (Hard Hat) Detection?
Helmet Detection is the surveillance system's ability to use the video analytics to determine whether the person is wearing a helmet or not.

Most commonly, the helmet detection process occurs inside the ACTi's IP camera, but some of the ZNR-series NVR servers are also able to do the helmet detection.

As the first step, the AI will first detect the people in the view of the camera. After that, it will analyze the person's behavior, based on the settings of the system, regarding wearing or not wearing the helmet.

Alarm Settings
When the setting requires that all the people in the view must wear a helmet, then the system will produce the alarm when a person without a helmet appears in the view of the camera or when the person takes off the helmet while being monitored.

If the settings require that the people must not wear a helmet while entering the premises, then the AI will only alert when the person wears a helmet.

It is also possible to set the specific time period during which the detection will be active.

Anwendungen

Construction sites, factories, specific types of warehouses, seaports, mines and many other places require the employees to wear a hard hat. Since it is very hard to manually track this rule being obeyed, the AI can help assist with this task.

There are also the opposite situations where it is not permitted to wear a helmet while entering the premises, such as banks and government buildings, where the helmets are not allowed to be worn for the safety reasons as the person might use the helmet to hide his identity while potentially attempting to do something illegal.

Lösungen

It is possible to use ACTi's Helmet Detection cameras together with ACTi's ZNR-series NVR or with Windows-based NVR 3 servers. The VMS will receive the alerts from the cameras and handle the events by video pop-up, sound alert, sending an email alert and more.

Furthermore, some of the latest ZNR-series NVR servers have the built-in Helmet Detection capability - it is possible to use a regular surveillance camera without built-in AI and still run helmet detection thanks to the NVR-side AI capabilities.
