Dome type – a symbol of indoor surveillance
Whenever you think about an indoor security camera, such as the one for the office, retail shop, elevator, hotel or bank lobby, restaurant, etc, you will probably imagine a camera with the dome design. You would be attracted to dome type because of its compact size and its discreet design by which you can conduct a professional video surveillance without disturbing the monitored people. You may even think of the indoor dome camera that has a smoke cover so that the optical part of the cameras will not be seen through the cover.
ACTi with the biggest variety of indoor domes
ACTi product line is really rich in dome cameras – there are nearly 20 different dome cameras available today, 11 of which are purely for indoor purposes while the rest of them can be used both indoors and outdoors. Having a rich selection of the dome cameras allows you to choose the camera that exactly fits to the environment you need – you will have only those functions in the camera that are really needed and by that you can optimize your cost on the project. For example, if you need the camera for the site that needs to be monitored only during daytime, then you can save the cost by choosing the indoor dome without night function, whereas if you need a camera that has to work even in total darkness with 0 lx then you can go for an IR LED supported indoor dome.
ACTi has just released 5 new indoor dome cameras in order to complete the ideal range of dome cameras for any possible scenario. Although they all have the same physical size and can all be used with the optional smoke cover, their functionality varies. The main specifications that are in common between those 5 cameras are the CMOS 1/3” sensor, wide dynamic range, triple compression (H.264, MPEG-4, MJPEG), dual streaming capability, digital input/output for alarm and access control integration, two-way audio, Power over Ethernet and the working temperature range -10C~50C (14F~122F).
Differences between new indoor domes
The main differences between those models are related to resolution and day/night functionality. It is also important to notice that the IR LED supported domes come with built-in vari-focal lens while the other domes come with built-in fixed focal lens.
