Seattle, WA – June 2009 – With a new year comes new opportunities, and security integrators need to look no further than ACTi Corporation and their newest partner, PSA Security Network. This was the first year that ACTi has attended PSA-TEC and the reception could not have been better. In its 25th year, PSA-TEC 2009 was held in St. Charles, IL at the Pheasant Run Resort, providing a comprehensive lineup of speakers, training classes and new technology for some of the top 200 systems integrators from across the country. In the rapidly changing world of physical security, keeping up with the changes is not an easy task. End users are demanding high resolution images while still trying to keep projects under budget, and budgets are continuing to shrink.

 

This is where ACTi was able to help. With a full solution offering, ACTi was able to showcase its full line of IP surveillance solutions complete with 1.3 Megapixel cameras that come bundled with an NVR software solution. Supporting up to 64 channels on a single server, systems integrators were ecstatic to learn the NVR software was included with the cameras at no charge, without any need for additional licenses. Systems integrators who have come to trust the ACTi brand we extremely happy their favorite vendor was now part of PSA, and of course some systems integrators who were not familiar with ACTi were elated to have found a reliable and cost effective solution for their IP surveillance projects.

 

ACTi’s highlight of the show was the TCM-5311, a 1.3 Megapixel H.264 IP box camera that delivered stunning images on the high resolution displays. Featuring a 1/3” Sony EXviewHAD CCD and a true day/night solution with a mechanical IR filter, many systems integrators were pleased to find the TCM-5311 was at a price they could afford. In addition to the hardware and software offerings, ACTi was able to show systems integrators how to navigate the countless pages of information, bringing everything into a central management solution with ACTi’s Sales Agent. The Sales Agent interface allows systems integrators to research, review, quote and propose ACTi’s IP surveillance solutions in an easy to follow format.

 

As the physical security industry migrates into the IT world, distinguishing systems integrators from IT personnel is becoming more difficult. Bill Bozeman, President and CEO of PSA touched on this at the Vendor Awards Luncheon. While welcoming attendees and talking about partnerships, Bill mentioned, “The solutions in the marketplace have become much broader” when referring to the IT side of the security industry. New alliances and partnerships between security manufacturers and IT companies was a big theme this year at PSA-TEC.
