Comprehensive surveillance system design requires camera placements in all kinds of locations. Cameras are secured to attachment surfaces via a wide variety of mounting accessories. These are generally divided into outdoor (weatherproof) and indoor (non-weatherproof) constructions.
ACTi is introducing a new range of Mounting Accessories in Apr. 2010 to augment and replace existing mounting accessories, especially for the Dome / PTZ Camera series. The new series of are entirely constructed in aluminum alloys. As a result the weight is drastically reduced while providing very high durability. In many cases the new version weighs less than half of its predecessor. In this document we detail the many choices available through ACTi’s range of mounting accessories. |

How to Use Dynamic DNS with ACTi Cameras |
There are surveillance solutions that consist of single cameras scattered over a wide territory, therefore each of those cameras should be connected to Internet in order to become accessible by Control Center. For example, the chain stores, bus stops, currency exchange booths, etc.
In such cases, one of the practical networking solutions is to use DSL modem on camera site and let the camera obtain the dynamic IP address from the Internet Service Provider through the DSL modem using PPPoE connection, which is much more cost-effective than applying for static IP address... |

The name IP camera describes a type of camera that uses IP-network for data streaming. Different protocols and services may be used to deliver the data from one device to another. The data packets enter and exit the device through the designated ports. Each of those ports has its number. The three most common ports for data connection in ACTi cameras are HTTP port (default port number is 80), Session Control port (default port number is 6001) and Streaming Protocol port (default port number is 6002).
