Background
Veljekset Keskinen is the second biggest department store in Finland. It is not only a department store with more than 250,000 products, but also a tourist attraction with a hotel, the caravan site, restaurants, and entertainment events. Over 5 million people from Finland and Russia visit here every year.
Due to aging of old analogue CCTV system, Veljekset Keskinen decided to upgrade to IP-based solution for better quality and security effectiveness.
Solution
Avalarm, ACTi’s distributor in Finland, designed the new solution with ACTi TCM-5601, ACD-2200 and SeeTec video management software. All shops, parking area, service station, camping place, warehouse, and restaurants are covered by the system.
Benefit
Veljekset Keskinen decided to migrate from the old analogue system to new one in a fast move so that the security would not be discontinued. New IP surveillance system offers better image quality without any loss caused by long distance. TCM-5601 supports H.264 compression, which means saving on hard drives. Deployment of ACD-2200 allows usage of some old CCTV cameras and saves some budgets in the migration. The new solution enables all recordings backed up on virtual server, which ends up very limited hardware in the control room. Moreover, the whole system is designed with better protection against lightening.
