For the commune of the region RHONE-ALPES in South-East France, the immediate surveillance requirement lies mainly in tramway surveillance and traffic surveillance in the peripheral intersections.
Being able to transmit high video quality via limited bandwidth is the key since the distance between control site and each monitoring site are quite far apart. The other important purpose of surveillance is to be able to capture, transmit and record very clear video in both day and night in case if any traffic accident or vandalism occurs.
Solution
ACTi TCM-5311, a H.264 1.3 Megapixel IP D/N PoE CCD Box Camera, with 720P high resolution video quality provided and the pre-definable smart Day Profile and Night Profile in use, was selected to level up dramatically the clearness and sharpness of the objects viewed under different light conditions. The ACTi extra long-range IR DC-IRIS lens (8-80mm), PLEN-0205, copping with TCM-5311 back focus adjustment, also makes possible the recognition of car plates and the identification of the pedestrian in long distance up to 50 meters.
5pcs TCM-5311 with PLEN-0205 has been installed on site with ACTi IP-66 housing. The 720P resolution in H.264 compression takes up only 2.5Mbps for each camera, which allows easy transmission via a Motorola wireless solution. All video are managed by ACTi software NVR Enterprise Edition (FREE bundled 16ch version), providing easy management for multiple users accessing the video source at the same time via both web browser and software interface in remote distance.
Both unified video surveillance solution and outdoor wireless solution are provided by be IP, ACTi’s local value-added distributor in France.
Benefit
ACTi unified NVR and IP camera solution provides high scalability and high flexibility within a very reasonable budget for the small-to-mid size city and traffic surveillance. In case of future NVR server extension, ACTi CMS (Central Management Software), with similar UI and user behavior built-in, saves the trouble for the personnel of spending more time and effort learning new skill sets.
