The Solomon-Page Group is an executive search firm specializing in staffing services, which
comprise temporary staffing, consulting as well as executive search and full-time contingency recruitment.
This project is aimed at securing the headquarters of the Solomon-Page Group (SPG), located in New York City, while giving control center the ability to view access to common and restricted areas. Besides, SPG emphasized the need of integrating its existing video intercom together into the IP-based surveillance system to allow remote access control.
After a thorough understanding of SPG’s major concerns for the new security system, Powercom proposed ACTi network video solution due to its end-to-end product offerings ranging from the camera site, to the control management site (ACTi NVR).Also, in order to achieve centralized management and to integrate all security devices onto one platform, an IP-based solution appeared to be the best choice!
ACTi’s CAM-7301 IP outdoor fixed domes were deployed to transmit streams for video live view, record and playback. ACD-2100 video server acts as an integration device to link the video intercom of analog camera into an IP-based surveillance system. All the video data are
transmitted through Internet (Ethernet) network. From a remote location, they are able to view who is trying to gain access and unlock doors remotely. The flexibility of ACTi’s IP surveillance system provided SPG a quick and cost-effective way to bolster its traditional security system. It also empowered the function of determining traffic flow through theoffice space.
SPG was very content with the package due to its ease of implementation, ease of use in addition to high video quality at D1 (720x480) resolution. ACTi’s IP surveillance system fulfilled SPG’s demand in monitoring any possible litigationor illegal activities that might occur on site.
With ACTi’s IP cameras installed in different locations of the office building, consolidated with its NVR Enterprise software program, the unified IP surveillance solution thoroughly monitored common and restricted areas at the headquarters of SPG and satisfied its major concern with security issues.
"We were not overly concerned with the cost of the solution as much as the results needed. It was a great experience with ACTi from concept through implementation. ACTi’s unified IP surveillance solution enhanced our security system with its complete hardware and software support." said Al Spahn, the Chief Technology Officer of the Solomon Page Group.
