Pricol Industries is a well-known automotive parts manufacturer and supplier which has a reputation for excellence in every aspect of its business. The corporation is known for providing first-class service to their customers and maintaining a high level of professionalism. With many high profile locations located all around the world, Pricol is dedicated to preserve their high standard in product quality and customer satisfaction. 

 

ACTi’s objective of this task is to install an effective system of monitoring their employee activity and the well-being of their facility. Towards this end, Pricol implemented a custom solution involving the use of 70 ACTi cameras. Those cameras are installed in and around the facility, providing security and a watchful eye over Pricol’s factory 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The IP surveillance solution that has been provided allows the management with the ability to view and manage operations across the factory on a 24x7 basis.

 

The project was completed in the time frame of one month. ACTI NVR software was used as the video management software to manage the recording as well as the interface for users browsing the recorded data. ACTi NVR is very functional and user friendly, and it can be accessed from any PC with internet connectivity. The result of this will be a full-scale surveillance solution of the Pricol factory, allowing the directors of the facility to watch over the factory via the Internet and observe factory operations from any location that they want.

 

The facility has multiple buildings which are interconnected by an optical fiber network. Within each building CAT6 Ethernet network has been used connect to the cameras. Internal locations primarily used ACM-3311 - an indoor day and night camera. Outdoor locations primarily used CAM- 6630 - a high speed dome camera and ACM-8511 - PTZ with 10X optical zoom camera. All gates have been secured with ACM-1431 - IP66 rated outdoor camera with IR for night vision.

Two servers have been deployed at the factory datacenter to manage the entire set of cameras. These servers continuously receive data from all the cameras and store the data with encryption for security. The data is also managed by the SQL database for easy retrieval by authorized users of the system.

 

The entire premise has two security gates where the entire set of cameras are monitored 24/7 by a team of security officers who is in charge of the premises. Each gate security facility has been provided with a monitoring station that logs into the datacenter servers to access the live streams from the cameras and can use various features such as the different view layouts to effectively monitor the factory premises. Authorized users can also retrieve previous recordings from the datacenter servers.

 

The datacenter servers constantly check for camera and network status for the cameras managed by them. In case of failure of any part of the system, a mail alert is sent to the system administrator. The system administrator can then analyses the cause a failure and implement appropriate precautionary measures to prevent such failures from recurring.

 

This system provides security of data, monitoring of premises, recording of all video data in a secure and easily retrievable form, and instant alerts in case of a failure of any part of the system enabling security person to effectively monitor and analyze incidents and thus constantly increase their manageability of the Pricol premises.
