Background
National Palace (Portuguese: Palácio Nacional da Pena) is one of the most famous palace in municipality of Sintra, Portugal. It stands on the top of a rocky hill above Sintra, and it can be easily seen from Lisbon and much of urban city area on a clear day. It constitutes one of the major expressions of 19th century Romanticism in the world.
The palace is awarded UNESCO World Heritage status as a "cultural landscape" in 1995, one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal and the eighth of most beautiful castles in Europe. It has amazing stuccos, painted walls and various revetments in tile from the 19th century, forming part of the numerous royal collections.
The palace is completely surrounded by Pena Park within lakes, fountains, follies, walking paths and belvederes over 210 hectares. This vast
forested area is completely created at the same time as the palace by King Ferdinand II.
Solution
The Pena Palace needs to have video security to secure visitors safety and its ancient properties for 24 hrs. Due to the compound area is huge, IP camera become the first choice for Pena Palace management.
There are 72 cameras and 11 video servers were installed in Palacio de Pena for the first phase. 18 units of ACM-1231 were set outside the palace. 50 Units of ACM-1511 were placed inside the palace and the souvenir stores to monitor the exhibits as well as merchandise. 4 units of CAM-6610 with 18X optical zoom were used to cover the large outdoor environment. ACTi’s bullet cameras with 1.3 megapixel, IP-66 casing and built-in IR-LED, offers high quality and clear images in complete dark outdoor environment.
