The assurance and control of the safety for the oil depot and gasoline station are critical to the nation-wide matter for industrial safety management where those facilities are main source of industrial hazard. Moreover, a severe and profound impact might happen due to the explosion of the inflammable material.

"Safety is politics, safety is reliability, and safety is benefit" is the rule of thumb to keep up, as well as the reinforcement of fire-proof monitoring for oil depot and oil tank. After comprehensive screening for vendor selection, the China Petroleum in Tieling, Liaoning chose ACTi ACD-2100, one-channel video server along with the traditional analog camera as a hybrid surveillance solution.

The project consists of 20 of ACTi ACD-2100, one-channel video server and ACTi NVR v. 2.1 management system. The analog video stream from analog camera is transferred via video server to ACTi NVR server. The superior quality of ACTi's MPEG-4 compression consumed limited bandwidth resources to deliver a clear imaging of Full D1 resolution quality by 25 frames per second, which facilitate the surveillance of oil depot and also the direct access of the surveillance system by the upper management.

As the result of the experience of this surveillance system, the oil depot and gasoline station is very satisfied with the reliability and ease of management of ACTi's offering which will be expanded to more oil depot and gasoline station from China Petroleum in the near future.
