Background
Hualien County, facing the immense Pacific Ocean in the east and leaning against the grand Central Mountain Range in the west, is famous for its beautiful scenery in Taiwan. The natural resources in Taroko National Park, East Coast National Scenic Area, East Rift Valley Scenic Area and Yushan National Park make Hualien the most beautiful county in Taiwan, which attracts many tourists from the world. In order to provide a safer living environment for both local residents and tourists, Hualien County Police Bureau is actively improving the quality of city surveillance by installing ACTi 4-megapixel KCM-5211 IP Box cameras at the significant intersections in Hualien County.
Solution
The perimeter is covered with 1 piece of KCM-5211 IP Box Cameras and 2 pieces of ACD-2100 1-Channel Video Encoder for 2 pre-existing analog cameras in the facility. The surveillance system is installed in a LAN environment; all camera data are transmitted via the fiber optics or wireless. Hualien County Police Bureau chose Softwell software along with ACTi IP cameras. Video storage and management are done at local police station, and the Central Management System is installed at Hualien County Police Bureau, which provides remote monitoring in multiple sites but spontaneously achieving centralized management.
Benefit
In order to obtain a better video quality and a wider viewing angle for the city surveillance, Hualien County Police Bureau installed ACTi 4-megapixel KCM-5211 IP Box cameras at some major intersections since 2011. Thus, the police officers can distinguish where the intersection it is and monitor more easily and efficiently. KCM-5211 4-megapixel IP Box camera is equipped with mechanical IR cut filter and 18x Optical Zoom with Auto Focus, which means it is capable of delivering high video quality with a wealth of details even in a low-light condition.
