In 1997, dealers of stationary in Taiwan started up a joint venture, Jin Yuh Tang Franchise, in order to have more bargaining power against their vendors. This is the start of stationary franchise business. As its steps into cities and towns across Taiwan, hundreds of franchises are started up. Till today, Jin Yuh Tang Stationary Store has become the largest one in Taiwan.

 

The wide-open entrance of Jin Yuh Tang Stationary Pindong Store makes the security control even more difficult. It then needs megapixel video surveillance system with high resolution and simultaneous audio recording function at the checkout area. In addition, to analyze customer behavior, shop routes, hot-selling products, peek time, demographic data and how they relate to the sales result, managers wish to have remote access to the live view and instant playback by IE browser. Given these inquiries, the system integrator chose ACTi Megapixel IP camera and ACTi software NVR to meet all these requirements.

 

The store is equipped with ACTi ACM-4200 Megapixel IP cube cameras indoors. Outside of the store, it needs the IP66-rated weatherproof ACM-1231 Megapixel IP cameras. Both models offer up to 1280x1024 megapixel resolution at 8fps video streaming. The MPEG4 compression further saves the storage size so as to allow long-period recording. The simultaneous audio and video recording function of ACM-4200 at checkout area makes it possible for the store manager to remotely monitor or play back to listen to the conversation between the staff and customers to avoid any disputes.

 

Ever since its adoption of ACTi’s Megapixel video surveillance system, Jin Yuh Tang Stationary Pindong Store enjoys the high resolution video quality and the remote access, live view and playback functions by ACTi’s software NVR. Managers can now easily zoom in to double-check any suspicious movements. This system can be easily upgraded in the future to support 2 megapixel IP cameras without any reconstruction efforts thus making the investment worthwhile. The owner of the Jin Yuh Tang Franchise is satisfied with this project and is planning with the system integrator for the overall replacement for the old, poor-quality analog cameras.
