ACTi's PCI encoder card and Video server are fully integrated by Ortega's VideoSm@t software which has enabled a Canadian entertainment center to incorporate IP based CCTV systems. Incorporating with the customer's analog camera system, the new system integrates the analog camera and IP camera on the same server. This is what we called hybrid nDVR system. By using hybrid DVR system, it provides simple control interface and effective management over a wireless environment.

 
There are 13 apartment buildings, a mall, commercial buildings as well as an entertainment center. All 16 locations have been connected via a wireless network. Twenty units of  SED2300/2310 , two units of SED2400,  two pcs of PCI4100 and four pcs of PCI5100 are included in this project. At software site, VideoSm@t software can control PCI-4100 and Video servers on the same server. So, running two Ortega NVRs with one web based interface with multi level maps.  All cameras record on motion only. At night the camera's are monitored from the security office.  The security office contains ten  20" LCD monitors.  The operators can choose what cameras go on which screens aswell how many views per screen.
 
      
 
ACTi provides a total solution to customer including encoder cards and video servers. For existing analog camera, if the camera distance is far, customer can choose video server to compress the video. If camera is close to each other, customer can connect to PCI cards and this application is the same as what DVR support. For a new site, customers can install IP cameras directly. Also, from VideoSm@t software, customer can access to any camera they want to preview and do the remote PTZ control. Therefore, ACTi+Ortega's VideoSm@t is the most efficient way to combine current analog system and new IP system which provides a flexible hybrid nDVR solution to customer.

ACTi's MPEG-4 IP products provide D1 (720x576) resolution at 30 frames per second and utilize low bandwidth and storage size. All interface on PCI-4100 and Video server is the same, customer can use a unify interface to control. Overall, this solution decreases significantly the installation costs of networking and increases the flexibility for the installation of monitors, DVRs and cameras.
