Blanchard Security based out of Campbell River, BC, Vancouver Island was contracted by Discovery Foods to install 10 ACTi ACM-4201 Megapixel IP Cube Cameras for indoor surveillance at their Willow Point location.
Blanchard Security was hired to install the surveillance system mainly to curtail theft occurring within the store . Manager, Don Nicholas, knew the value of video surveillance when it came to managing his store. When Don was approached by Marc Blanchard, owner of Blanchard Security, his analog camera system was not functioning for over 3 months. This proved to be a good thing, because Discovery Foods decided to go with an IP megapixel surveillance system instead of repairing the old analog one. The whole management team agrees that the imaging is superior. “Blanchard security upgraded Discovery Foods surveillance system with both great and affordable technology, creating a safer environment for both my customers and my staff”, Mr. Nicholas mentioned.
The megapixel cameras allow them to zoom in to get a closer look at activity within the store. For example, an incident occurred where a customer insisted that she was not given her cigarettes with her grocery purchase. The clerk spoke to the manager regarding this, and the manager searched through the footage of the ACM-4201 Megapixel IP Cube Camera. Not only could he see the customer receiving her cigarettes, but he could see what brand they were and which pocket she put them in!
The client chose an ACTi unified solution because it was cost effective and it outperformed traditional CCTV systems. When compared to the analog system quote given by a competing company, the ACTi solution allowed them to go with less cameras with more clarity for about half the price!
Discovery Foods has two locations in the Campbell River area. The owner of Discovery Foods has decided to go ahead with an ACTi installation for their second location in the spring of 2010.
