IPDom, ACTi's premiere partner in Ukraine, has launched enterprise scale IP surveillance deployment in the central part of Kiev, Ukraine's capital. It is a luxury condominium with two-storey upscale retail and office complex called Diplomat Hall.

Why is this site significant? Diplomat Hall has been developed to meet the highest requirements of the most demanding customers. Its concept was to create an ultimate living environment for the future owners. Among its residents now are Ukrainian celebrities as well as political and business elite.

The site located on 1.3 hectares in several levels: parking in two levels, and beautiful yard above the parking which surrounds the residential complex. Exterior decorations include façade granite and large Italian glass for promenade.

Though the complex already had a CCTV surveillance system, it was mostly installed for parking and entrances. Kiev based PORYAD.OK LLC, the facility company which is handle the security management for Diplomat Hall needed additional cameras to watch the shopping promenade and the surrounding park to improve the efficiency of the security personnel. In addition, it was requested to give access to specific cameras to the shop owners and residents. When bandwidth is a considerable issue for remote users, ACTi's solution is the only answer due to ACTi's IP cameras' flexibility in remote access and scalability. With low bandwidth consumption, ACTi's IP cameras can perfectly perform high-quality (D1 resolution) and real-time (25 FPS) MPEG-4 streams.

The complete project include 23 cameras: for indoor promenade surveillance, IPDom installed IP Bullet Cameras, ACM-1311 and ACM-1431, chosen for the best value for functionality; for outdoor surveillance, CAM-7321 were used mostly for it's vandal-proof housing and extreme working temperatures while two PTZ CAM-6610 installed on the opposite side of the park providing a "smarter eye" and potentially replacing other 6-8 fixed cameras.

 "We had already a hybrid video surveillance system which did not give a complete view of the situation in the building." said by Igor Kristchuk, head of the security in PORYAD.OK LLC, mentioned "IPDom offered a more efficient solution with 23 cameras. Though more expensive, eventually it saves costs on further managing the system and infrastructure. With ACTi IP Speed Dome, we can have better mobility. We have really wide yard, for which this "moving eye" is just a perfect match: it has a long reach and gives details from a long distance while we can position them on any object within and outside the yard. With just two cameras we cover the whole yard and 3 of 4 sides of the perimeter."

ACTi NVR was configured on a dedicated rack server. All cameras and NVR server have real IP address and can be accessed from any remote location via the internet. "It's totally different experience", said Nataly Likhenko, CEO for PORYAD.OK, "Now video surveillance for me is an easy tool to control the building. Unlike the hybrid system that we have at the parking area, ACTi solution is accessible to me and my management colleagues from desktop, or even while I'm traveling. I'm confident that our customers would also enjoy the ability to use the internet for access to the live video for their own purposes."
