Safeguard, who is an ACTi Partner in Denmark, has a corporation agreement with the BFI organisation (Shell Dealer) - Shell Kalundborg (owner Mr. Hans Frederiksen) recently contacted Safeguard for an offer on a video surveillance solution on his gas station. At that time, Safeguard has already decided to migrate from analogue solutions to the new IP solutions. Based on this strategic decision, Safeguard presented an offer to Mr. Frederiksen based on ACTi Unified solution using the local distributor SafeVision as support and channel to all ACTi products. After seeing the quality of the ACTi 1.3 megapixel pictures - against the standard 550TVL analogue picture - Mr. Frederiksen without doubt decided to go for the IP-future.
Together with SafeVision, the system integrator Safeguard designed the solution using the ACM-1231 1.3 Megapixel IR LED Bullet Cameras for outside application and ACM-4201 1.3 Megapixel Cube Camera with POE for the indoor use. The fact that Megapixel cameras can now zoom in the recorded pictures, gives the IP system an advantage to reduce the number of cameras outside.

These ACM-1231 cameras were selected for the outdoor purpose because IR LED lights were necessary to see the license plates in the dark with the headlights turned on. “This is working fantastic as you can see from the enclosed snap-shot pictures” –comments Martin Lundemann from Safeguard. Two ACM 4201 cube cameras were installed inside the gas station. One of them covers the entrance to the shop, and the other covers every movement in the area of the cash register. The camera above the cash register especially has received many positive reactions from other customers, because now they can actually see what note that the customers are giving out as well as what the cashier is typing on the POS monitor.

The ACTi IP Megapixel cameras are being managed by Acti NVR Enterprise for the purpose to allow the owner to watch live and recorded videos from the gas station.
The ACTi Unified Solution contains: NVR Enterprise server, 8ch PoE switch, 2 x ACM-4201 and 5 x ACM-1231.Based on the good quality of the ACTi Unified Solution, Safeguard are now able to participate in other projects where they have the advantage of knowing these new opportunities in using IP megapixel quality and the challenges of an IP installation.
