One of the main tasks of the municipalities is to take care of the security of their neighborhoods.  The Municipality of Magdalena needed to have a Solution of Civic Security that enables surveillance for the less secure areas of its district, so INTELCOM-TI designed a solution that allowed implementation of ACTi's IP video surveillance technology through a wireless network system in the district.  

The first six IP cameras were ACTi's Speed Dome model CAM-6220 which were installed in strategic points of the district for effective surveillance.  The wireless network system was interconnected via radio in the frequency of 5.8 GHz, in an area with a radius of 3km, centered at the Center of Command (central headquarters) where ACTi's NVR is installed at to manage all the MPEG-4 video streams from the six CAM-6220 IP speed dome camera and thus administer the local security. 

Magdalena is the first district in Peru at national level that has the technology of IP Video Surveillance; the project now is in the second phase in that the wireless architecture will be fine tuned to respond to IP video system and allow 100% coverage of Magdalena's district via twenty ACTi's IP Speed Dome cameras. In the third phase, additional functions will be added for mobile terminals with video streaming supported on ACTi's architecture. 

INTELCOM-TI plans to duplicate this project in other Municipalities in Peru and develop the market ofIP VideoSurveillance for the hydrocarbon and mining companies as well as forthe government and private sector.
