“Chatea” is a Chinese chain restaurant that features tea, and brings traditional tea culture into people’s life today. They were established in May 2002, and set up more than 30 chain restaurants throughout major cities in China, such as ShangHai, BeiJing, NanJing, etc.  In order to enhance their service quality and management efficiency, they decided to implement ACTi’s IP surveillance solution.  At the same time, ACTi’s solution also increases security level of the restaurants, and prevents burglars or thefts.

Because they are chain restaurants, the senior management cares a lot about how to manage each restaurant.  Therefore, when they design the surveillance system, they want to do central management through internet and they hope the user interface is user friendly.  ACTi advised them to install 4 to 8 analog cameras in each restaurant, and connect to ACTi’s IP Quad video server, SED-2310Q.  The video stream will be transmitted to internet via the ADSL at each restaurant.  Also, at each restaurant, a NVR server is installed to do local recording via local Ethernet.  The central control room is located in ShangHai headquarter, and they use ACTi’s video management software NVR 2.0 to do central recording and viewing while receiving video stream via internet from each restaurant.  This software also allows operators to playback any video clips if needed.  ACTi’s video management software NVR 2.0 provides tree directory that allows senior management to manage different cameras at different regions at real-time.  It allows them to manage real-time status at each restaurant.

ACTi’s IP surveillance solution has been deployed in restaurants at six different major cities.  Because this system has very good scalability, it’s easy for the chain restaurant to add more IP cameras in new restaurants in the future when they expand, but still can fit into their current solution.  This system has got high regard fromChatea senior management, and ACTi is proud to work with them.
