If a baby comes too early into the world, a longer stationary stay of the child in the hospital is necessary to minimize further health risks. For parents this is an arduous and emotional loading time. 

 

This behavior was the reason for the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresdento implement the “Baby TV” idea into their hospital infrastructure. The ACTi camera ACM-4201 with its decent design and its fantastic video performance, and the ACTi NVR was the perfect solution for this very special application.

 

The implementation of a video surveillance at 20 care places at the university clinic facilitates the separation from the baby for parents and helps to intensive the contact between child and parents before the dismissal from the hospital take care. Studies from the US and Netherland scientists confirm that parents feel safer by the remote video connection in handling the baby. Furthermore the work loading of local nurses can be minimized if the parents can see and hear their baby immediately and anytime without having to call the nurse at the hospital.

 

Parents and other family members - whether in Dresden, Taipei or Toronto – can enjoy the high video quality of the ACM-4201 over a website. They just have to enter their username and password and are so able to admire their new family member from locations all over the world. They welcome this service, which is put to them free of charge over the Internet. 

 

The ACTi camera solution was installed by EDV Systemlösungen Kriegel . The reasons for choosing the ACM-4201 were the detailed megapixel video quality, the small form factor with a decent design, the easy installation and the competitive price. EDV Systemlösungen Kriegel has already finished a similar project at the Charité hospital in Berlin and will continue to deploy the ACTi solution for premature baby surveillance in more and more hospitals all over Germany.
