Background
AIDA is one of the global market leaders in the cruise liner business. Millions of travelers enjoy their cruises to the most beautiful islands worldwide every year. Their extensive infrastructure needs a high-end data processing center to handle all AIDA digital data. It is inevitable to have a reliable video surveillance solution to keep this center safe.
Solution
ACTi and its local partner from Telekom Technischer Service and Elbex were able to deliver a solution and could easily fulfill their requirements. Firstly, the camera has to have strong night performance with integrated and external IR-LED. Secondly, there has to be a stable NVR software with the ability to work in a virtual server software environment. Thirdly, easy remote access is a necessary. Fourthly, only the high resolution with superb video quality is qualified.
Benefit
The choices of cameras were the ACTi ACM-5611 Megapixel IP Box Camera with an outdoor housing and an external IR-LED device; ACM-3511 Megapixel IP Fixed Dome Camera with integrated IR-LED. Both of these cameras are offering a detailed 1.3 megapixel picture and a strong night performance with a mechanical IR-cut filter. For the software, ACTi NVR 2.3 was chosen – seamless working in a virtual server environment and free of any additional cost for installations up to 16 cameras. With its long-term stability and user-friendly interface, ACTi NVR is a no-brainer the first choice for the end user.
With 7 units of ACM-3511 constantly monitoring, the uninterrupted power supply units and the server rooms inside the data processing center ran very smoothly. ACM-5611 was installed outside at the entrance to ensure the safety of the AIDA property. With recordings of potential incidents like thefts or vandalism, the alleged criminals can also be identified in the future.
