In the heart of Dublin's business district, a new development by McNamara's Construction have designed something architecturally breathtaking. This unique development of 6 incredible buildings, 3 reserved for offices, the others consist of residential hotel and leisure facilities all of which feature the outdoors indoors. All you would see is nature at play in 14.5 acres of parkland. But if you look carefully, you will notice that some of those massive tree trunks are not tree trunks at all. They are support beams for the great glass buildings above you. Even as you look up, you see more trees, but behind glass. There is something else which is different. There are no cars. This is because as traffic enters Elmpark it goes underground, complimenting the natural environment keeping everybody dry and warm during inclement weather. Elmpark is naturally, and remarkably, unique.

98 Cameras which consists of both PTZ's and fixed domes are located throughout the site monitoring the site external areas and the internal residential buildings. By installing Cat5 cabling and the use NVT active transmitters provides the flexibility to allow the cameras to be located at distances up to 1Km away from the control room situated in the basement of the complex.

11 Rack mount NVT receivers are mounted in series and in conjunction with 11 units of ACTi 8-channel CODEC, SED 2610, gave us the ability convert the system into the IP solution required. ACTi SED-2610 is chosen because it enables the cameras being recorded for a total of 30 days at 25fps at D1 resolution. The 2nd rack, houses the 5 x TITAN Network-attached storage (NAS) 16 Bay with 8TB were used. A purpose made control station has been designed to allow for the monitoring of the site. The use of IP surveillance video management system to monitor alarms and control the CCTV as well as the EAC (electronic access control) has been installed thus providing digital IP images of the camera system.  To convert the IP CCTV images back to analogue for the 4 x 19" and the 1 x42" monitors we have used ACTi video decoder, SED-3300, so that the users can switch between cameras around the site and display them directly in front of the control station.
