The DNP Photomask plant in Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan is the second overseas plant built by Japan-based Dai Nippon Printing Co. Ltd., which is Japan's second-largest photomask manufacturer with 20 percent of the global market of photomasks used in the semiconductor sector.
DNP chose ACTi unified IP solution to serve the surveillance task in the new photomask plant because ACTi NVR offers the advantage of channel scalability – up to 64 channels on a single server. The first installation uses 24 channels, but with ACTi NVR, DNP has the flexibility to add more cameras in future installations. In addition, ACTi unified solution based on server-client structure allows for simultaneous multiple-user remote access. Authorized users at different locations can log on to the server using web browser IE and get exactly the same Monitor and Playback interface as the NVR server without having to have NVR program installed in the PC. This feature enables managers and operators at DNP to perform live-monitor and playback with their own PCs or laptops in just two steps - simply open the IE browser and enter a web address.
Another favorable feature of ACTi NVR is the multi-language option, which allows users to choose different languages when logging on. This feature has proved to be a handy design for multi-national organizations, such as DNP. Their Japanese and Taiwanese staff could operate the same system without extra translation assistance.
ACTi cameras chosen for this project are
ACM-1431 x 11 pcs (IP66, outdoor, IR bullet camera)
ACM-3311 x 13 pcs (indoor IR dome camera)
ACTi ACM-1431 bullet camera integrates a number of features – IP66 weather-proof housing, vari-focal lens, PoE-powered IR,mechanical IR filter, Sony CCD sensor and 2-way audio, which enhance installation flexibility and lead to much better low-light or night performance. ACTi device's outstanding functionality working with ACTi NVR is the unified solutionto meet the DNP project requirement.
