The monitoring scope covers several main high ways in Taiwan, including High way No.2, No.7, No.9 and ILan Country Route No.192. In the traffic monitoring and security center, the administrator needs to preview all video streams and analyze traffic situation systematically. Meanwhile, all of the video streams  are available to all citizens via the internet, without any need password or registration requirement.

Due to the existing analog cameras, ACTi's video servers and NVR software became the best solution for the project.

The implementation of the ACD-2100 was very simple.  Forty three of these single channel video servers were installed around the city at key points such as highways and busy traffic intersections.  Additionally, ACTi's NVR server software was installed in the traffic control center to provide real time preview, recording and video analysis.

By using ACTi's video server and NVR software, the Taiwan traffic monitoring systems was able to provide real time surveillance at D1 (720 x 480) resolution at 30 frames per second. Additionally, the value added received from ACTi's NVR server is that any citizen in Taiwan can preview all of the video streams from any website, anytime, anywhere.

In conclusion, ACTi provides customers with specific software development kit for further software integration such as SCADA. ACTi's one SDK strategy gives customers the ability to integrate the SDK with their system quickly and efficiently. Commenting on the ease of integration, a system installer of the project said that “ACTi's SDK solves us a lot of system integration problems. ACTi's solutions make whole system integration simple and convenient.”
