In order to improve video quality for city monitoring, Hua-Lien police bureau adopt ACTi video server SED-2120 with WiLAN wireless equipment to get D1/30FPS video from camera site on the street.

They used DVR solution before. However they are not satisfied with the video quality with CIF resolution and the extremely low frame rate at only 3 FPS via network. Meanwhile the video quality is not able to enable tracking function for police staff so the police bureau chose ACTi IP surveillance solution of offering to solve their problems.

The system involves in four difference sites.  There are four Zoom Cameras on each street. SED-2100R, the 1-ch video server was connected to each of the four analog Zoom Cameras and is receiving analog video from the analogzoom cameras to police control center via the wireless transmission which applies 802.11ag technology. In the control center, the police stuff use ACTi Streaming Activator, the 16-ch managing software and customization e-MAP for city security surveillance.

The police staff also can do remote control through wireless transmission when they are on-duty. They can use control panel of the software to operate the Zoom In/Out functions for remote camera sites.

The benefits for the IP surveillance deployment to Hua-Lien security surveillance include excellent video quality and no coaxial cabling for building a neat city.  Meanwhile this architecture is easy to extend the scale.
