Located in Salerno (Italy), General Market represents the principal point for fruit and vegetables distribution. Here is where first fruits get stored before reaching retail markets in the whole area. ACTi IP camera implementation increased security of one of the main wholesaler's headquarter situated inside of the General Market and, moreover, allowed remote monitoring of branch offices and silos points located into other zones.
The whole project involved 18 ACTi IP cameras distributed over three different points and the use of Video management software. Specifically, two pieces of ACTi ACM-1431 and four ACM-1311 camera models were used for each of the two remote points, in order to guarantee security of silos and collection points of the fruit stocks.
Both of these points also required a dedicated Video software platform running on two servers for local video monitoring and recording. At the same time, another Video application has been installed on a third server at the headquarter office, in order to manage both the ACTi IP cameras herein installed, which consisted in three pieces of ACTi ACM-1431, two of ACM-4200 and one piece of ACM-5611, as well as centralized management of all remote video channels via WAN.
Once again, ACTi Megapixel technology worked on monitoring very large areas (approx 240 squared metres per camera) in combination with ultra-wide angle Megapixel Computar lens assuring the view of the whole management stock gallery without loosing details. Video software platform offers advanced features in a multi-site environment as group camera management and ACTi variable frame technology support to avoid bandwidth issues. In any case, prompt alerts are also provided by the Video software in case of network failure or video loss.
"We are really impressed by the excellent video quality of ACTi Megapixel cameras and the multiple video management choices."said the market owner.
