TB-EYE LTD, ACTi’s main distributor in Japan, has successfully deployed a new IP surveillance system with the implementation of ACTi unified solution in a hospital project, located in the Chubu District in Japan.

The new IP surveillance system comprises fifty units of ACM-3411, Megapixel IP Fixed Dome Camera, four units of ACM-5611, Megapixel IP Box camera as well as the independently-developed management software, ACTi NVR Enterprise. 

The main purpose of deploying a new IP-based surveillance system for the hospital is to ensure the safety of all the inpatients. It is a 10-floor building and on each floor there are five units of ACM-3411 dome type IP cameras installed to monitor visitors entering the hospital in case of any possible illegal activities occur. In addition, there are four units of ACM-5611 box type IP cameras installed at the outdoor parking lot. 

The new IP surveillance system provided by ACTi is definitely a cost-effective way in comparison with the traditional CCTV system. Both of the models are equipped with Power over Ethernet (PoE), which enables data transmission and power support over single network cable. This can help on saving extra cable installation expenses and ensure that all cameras still operate smoothly when the power support fails.

Resolution is another strong feature that the hospital can benefit from an IP-based surveillance system. ACM-5611 and ACM-3411 both support Megapixel resolution up to 1280x1024 at 8 frames per second whereas analogue cameras can only provide video quality at D1 resolution the best. To ensure that there will be clear image supported in case of robberies or thefts, cameras with high resolution are certainly of great importance.

Now the nurses can simultaneously monitor all the inpatients in different sites of the hospital through the NVR software instead of walking through the ten floors of the building. All the videos are transmitted via Internet network, web clients can easily link to the management interface via Internet Explorer. Distance is no longer an issue to limit people from monitoring remotely.
