Background
Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW), founded in 1916 in Germany, is an automobile and motorcycle manufacturing company. After nearly 100 years, BMW is now known for its luxury vehicles worldwide. Its circular blue and white logo with B-M-W letters surrounded has portrayed success and prestige.

Echoing its Vision—BMW EfficientDynamics, BMW Taiwan spent two years and NT$ 800 millions, establishing the BMW Binjiang EfficientDynamics Service Center. It is by far the largest all-in-one flagship service center of BMW, hosting 11,570m2 service space to serve 100 customers a day, a 992m2 demo room where it can accommodate 10 BMW vehicles at the same time. Solution
To ensure service quality, the Binjiang BMW EfficientDynamics Service Center is equipped with ACTi high definition video surveillance system combining ACTi’s Megapixel IP camera and NVR Software. All areas and routes within the service center are monitored and recorded by Megapixel IP camera. Should there be any scratches or damages of the car, it is easy to retrieve the recording files to find out the causes. In addition, the unlimited digital zoom-in feature allows customers and the staff to check out whether the damages exist on arrival or during the maintenance service. This can not only secure the car condition but also protect staff from any false allegation. Supervisors are easily to resolve disputes and problems.

All BMW vehicles will be monitored and recorded by ACTi TCM-5311 Megapixel IP cameras when they get into the service center. With its Megapixel resolution, H.264 codec technology, CCD sensor as well as Auto Iris, ACTi TCM-5311 provides excellent video quality during both daytime and nighttime. In addition, the compact, fixed-dome type ACTi ACM-3511 Megapixel IP cameras perfectly match with the state-of-art decoration of the building. With its vari-focal lens and IR LED, the camera can still make clear and crispy video recording. All critical areas are monitored without any hidden spaces. Thus, both the new cars for demo and the cars waiting for maintenance can be secured.

By adopting ACTi NVR software, all video recordings are securely saved in machine room. Meanwhile, both guardrooms are installed with ACTi Workstation. It allows multiple security officers simultaneously to do live monitoring and play back recording files according to their roles and permission settings. Security officers can not only monitor multiple channels but also do synchronize playback. ACTi NVR also allows log-in by IE browser so that managers can directly access to NVR server to monitor live views and play back recording files right from their seats. Streaming Engine technology of ACTi NVR allows multiple accesses at the same time.
